For those considering this deal, keep in mind the SSD is removable, but it is a 2242 form factor, and the choice of SSD's is small and are higher priced than their 2280 equivalents.

I bought one at 750 and returned. It is a great laptop, loved the build, screen is gorgeous and keyboard is awesome. It is snappy and battery life was pretty good for me. I was able to install vscode, node, docker etc and didn't get any issues. However i also use cursor to code and it was significantly slower compared to my other laptop since it didn't have arm build. I also just tried installing civ6 and it refused to open. If you are fine with limitations, this is a great laptop.

It actually can be used for most coding tasks just fine. Sure it is not a gaming machine unless you plan to stream.
I have yet to find something that I need and that it can't do and I do actually code for living (at least in part).
If on a fence get it, try it for a month if you are unhappy give it back and no harm done, you got to play with some exciting new tech. I would say chances are 90% you will be happy with it unless you do something quite specialized (and then you should already know not to touch this).

Office 365 and Netflix?
After bit of searching, I figured many like the touch screen over macbook. Weird, that many people drawing signatures for a living?

Question is what cannot be done? Cant we use it to code on VS Code? I expect most Adobe software to be supported soon as well.

What exactly makes it a "Chrome Book" in your opinion? I have the surface pro with similar specs including the snapdragon processor and it runs great.

My wife has this machine, as a casual computer it is insanely great. Incredible battery life and this display is by far the best I have ever seen. She ain't a power user for ARM to matter but chrome runs great.

Quote from spendingmoneyonjunk : the fact is runs Windows but can barely use any other applications than those that are able to be ran on a Chromebook? Windows on a Snapdragon machine is a terrible experience, which you already know; that's the reason these laptops continue to get discounted. https://windowsonarm.org/ https://armrepo.ver.lt/ Be sure to keep clicking the "more" button to keep loading dozens of screens of apps that are compatible. My experience on my Asus Snapdragon X Plus with 3K 120Hz OLED is a great experience, especially considering it was $473. I've got plenty of other laptops, including a MBP 16", but will not return the Asus because it's just such a great laptop with regards to specs, features, speed and battery life for what I paid.

Even MacBooks are going for hundreds less on sale. This one is no different.

this would've been great couple years ago. Now that intel and amd both offer massive performance with 20 hrs plus battery life on their light and portable laptop who wants to deal with arm?

Also, Intel's next mobile processor, Arrow Lake, will not be as power-efficient as the Lunar Lake (Ultra 2 series) so this current generation may be the best battery life we see for a while.
